Hi Sarah, take a look at my post How to Make Fermented Oats: https://ancestralkitchen.com/2024/09/24/how-to-make-fermented-oats/

I also have a video on You Tube called 'Healthy Fermented Oats' (if you search for those words it'll come up).

It's best to grind/roll the oats first to help break down toxins. You can do this, freshly, yourself. There are instructions in this post: https://ancestralkitchen.com/2024/05/14/how-to-roll-oats-at-home/

I hope this helps!

Hello i am from pittsburgh, Pa area :) i am trying to be healthy n i believe oat groats are the healthiest form of oatmeal right?? I heard there is something in them naturally that is not healthy for us to eat. So we need to do something with them n apple cider vinegar I believe (if i remember correctly) Do you happen to have a healthy and hopefully and old fashioned recipe too?

Hi Carole. I'm glad you found me! I have a podcast too with lots more information. You can find it on any podcast app as Ancestral Kitchen Podcast or we have a website with the episodes at https://ancestralkitchenpodcast.com. Let me know how you get on with fermenting grains!

Hi Alison - Came across your website today while searching "how long to soak oats" (want to make granola). What a wonderful find to discover your great website! Have book marked it. Just have scratched the surface so far, and looking forward to explore fermenting oats and other ancient grains - new territory for me. Thank you so very much creating this collection of educational info infused with wisdom and love.
