It's taken me 15 years to realize the truth in what you've written. Each of the points you make is so important. I think I wanted the diets to figure out what works for me and what doesn't (and heal me), but that is what I have to figure out for myself. After giving up so many foods, I was clinging to dairy, and finally let go recently and it seems to be making a difference. I have to let go of this idea of being "normal" or "cured" and do the best I can for myself every day. I don't know that I would want to eat like a "normal" personal anyway - knowing what I know today, I think I would still choose this healthier way of living. And I'm grateful to have found this community and see that so many others share my experience. It definitely helps you feel less isolated and gives you the courage and perseverance to carry forward.

Hi Lizzy and thank you for your response. This is the hardest part, seriously...the capability to support yourself long term as you do the difficult thing. I send you lots of strength and love!

This is a beautiful and well written. It can seem overwhelming and yes the ASAP version of gut healing sounds great but like you said it’s a process. I think patience with myself and gentleness is hard and in order to fix my gut issues I’m going to need both. Thank you for this.
