I am not a full on homesteader by any means but I’m interested. I have chickens and quail and have started to make sourdough. (Only about 30 loaves in). I’m super interested in whole grains and more healthy breads and I am ready to binge all your podcast. I have never tried kombucha or kefir but my curiosity has been tickled. I made my first bone broth from a turkey carcass this weekend and am so proud. Lol! Thank you for sharing with us!

Hi Emily! This is great news. Glad the method works for you – we use it virtually every month. How do you like the lard?!

I asked for the kidney fat and some of the other scrap fat. I never thought I’d render my own lard! Using your dry method is much easier than I thought! Thank you!

Hi Erica. Thank you for your note – yes, such simplicity born from necessity 🙂 I’m glad you enjoyed the long-fermented oat biscuits too!

Absolutely facinating. I love the connection to ancestry and history that I feel when learning about the origins of foods. And from such simple, wholesome ingredients – makes me appreciate simplicity and frugalism in general. I look forward to your cookbook!
p.s. I made your fermented Christmas oat biscuits a few months ago. Delicious. I will make them again!

I’m eating one now as I continue to read the book. Thanks so much for publishing this recipe. Full disclosure, I put honey raisins, and some plain yogurt on one of them and it was delicious. They are also great plain! Thanks again. Kelly
